Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy are both Malaysians. She has two brothers and one older sister. Her parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s because of the Lankan civil unrest and hence she was born and raised in Bahrain. When she finished her studies in Bahrain, she was awarded an Scholarship to attend Sydney's University of Sydney, where she completed a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. As a lover of all different cultures and languages, she was a part of the Berlitz school of languages, in which she was able to learn Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. In 2006, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006 and also competed for Miss Universe 2006. In the wake of her 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone entered the television world and hosted a program about Sri Lankan business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone's father was a badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been born in Copenhagen and Bangalore. As a teenager, she played in national level badminton competitions, but quit playing and went on to become a designer. Padukone's native language is Konkani. She is Mangalorean by origin. Padukone, a village in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State, India is where her ancestry comes from. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international badminton player who is retired. Her mom is a travel agent.
